Beth is close to completing a PhD in Animal Biology through UC Davis. She studies the proteins involved in the fusion of two lipid bilayers (e.g. two cell membranes). More specifically, she focus on the proteins that allow the sperm and egg cell membranes to fuse during fertilization. As a first generation college student of mixed ethnicity from a low-income background, one of her goals in writing this blog is to make this science more accessible to everyone.
