I am an emotional writer, by which I mean emotions guide my writing. If I don’t “feel” an idea or prompt, I can’t write. I have come to realise my blog is really a journal of emotions…! I find it difficult to express myself verbally; but I enjoy writing thoughts and ideas in a poetic way. I find it fun. I have also always enjoyed maths (a definite right or wrong) and syllabic poetry brings balance to my free verse, forms with patterns and rules to obey are challenging but rewarding. I am creative and artistic at work (jewellery) and in my hobbies (art, interior design, needlework) but only have enthusiasm for “bespoke” creations. Maybe that’s why I enjoy poetry, a one off piece each time. A few very difficult years emotionally drew me to poetry. It has helped me to live in the moment and brings more clarity to my thoughts. I am excited to see what I write, as it is a total surprise to me every time! I look for “signs”, enjoy meditation and have developed a spiritual awareness that fascinates me. I have far too many health problems to list (or bore you with) but my blood group is B+ and I try and remind myself that to 'be positive' is my life’s mantra …but the dark side will still emerge sometimes. The warmth I have found from this online community has amazed me. Making connections with others across the globe is incredible, and I highly value their words and friendship.
