The CantingCrew

the name canting crew comes from a gem of a book called " The Dictionary Of The Vulgar Tongue", a reference book for understanding the "Flash Lingo", a coded language used in 19th century England by the underclasses. A canting crew was a skillfull mob of canters (ravers, fast talkers) that were adept in the Flash Lingo dialect .
