Carole Ann Spink is a legal scholar, law professor, and former international employment law partner with more than two decades of experience. She serves as an Assistant Professor of Law at Barry University’s Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, where she teaches Contracts, Business Organizations, and Employment Law. Her career includes senior roles in private practice, where she advised on cross-border employment matters related to mergers and acquisitions. She earned a Juris Doctor degree with High Honors and later completed a Master of Science degree in International Relations. Spink began her higher education by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1992. During her undergraduate studies, she was inducted into an international English honor society and served as an Academic Peer Advisor in the School of Communications. She later completed her legal education, graduating in 1997 with High Honors and ranking ninth in a class of 335 students. She was elected to the Order of the Coif and recognized as a legal scholar. While in law school, she served as a Notes and Comments Editor for a law review and completed a judicial externship with a federal district court in the Northern District of Illinois. In 2003, she expanded her academic background by earning a graduate degree in International Relations. Her legal career began in Chicago, where she worked as a Summer Associate and then as an Associate from 1997 to 1999. She joined a global law firm in 1999, returned to the firm in September 2006, and was promoted to Partner in January 2011. From 2011 to 2019, she held a leadership role in a North American employment and labor law practice and served as an editor for a publication focused on global employment law developments. Alongside client work, Carole Spink maintained a strong commitment to pro bono and social impact initiatives. She served as Team Leader for an extensive international collaboration supporting the legal and economic empowerment of women in Nepal. This effort received the 2010 Corporate Pro Bono Partner Award from the Pro Bono Institute. In 2019, she joined another international law firm as a Partner, advising clients on domestic and global employment law matters. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as Co-Chair of a firmwide task force and as the founding author of a pandemic resource center. She transitioned to academia in August 2024 as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law and was appointed Assistant Professor of Law in August 2025. She previously taught at a law school in New Orleans from August 2004 to May 2006. Admitted to practice law in Illinois and Florida, Carole Ann Spink continues to focus on domestic and cross-border employment law.
