Some time ago, when my daughter was first drawing my attention to the young Senator Obama and we were all still hopeful, she kept saying "he's mixed-race" (as she is) and, said more portentously, "his mom's an anthropologist named Stanley!". This said as though that explained everything. And, it did. Her mom's an anthropologist named Christopher.
