Photographer, writer, multimedia artist, I'm also a retired family practice physician. Graphically, I'm interested in "Austin weird," political documentary, birds, other animals, nature, the environment, climate change, poverty, photos of people which convey meaning and signs of decaying civilization. I have two Aussie rescue dogs, and a third Aussie puppy, as well as a cat. American history, music and art are other interests. I read whenever I have time. Trained as a journalist, I have found my moderate, slightly left-leaning views to have been shifted much farther left, without actually changing; that is, I believe in science, the rule of law, common decency, and a society which protects those who are vulnerable. I believe in peace, non-violence, rights for women, religious freedom, and rights for others regardless of their nationality, religion, who they love, or the color of their skin. I love exploring new places, and have visited 49 of the 50 states. My husband is retired from 20 years of military service, including two years in the Army in Vietnam. We have moved a lot within the US, as he was given new duty assignments every two to four years. Born in Iowa, and raised in the midwest, I've been in Austin, Texas for the past five years; sort of a hybrid Texas/Yankee!
