Studied, loved Chemical Engineering. Assisted in research across superconductors, oceanography, therapeutics. Fell into generalist engineering- designing experiments, then rigging up whatever we needed to run them: system of sensors, motors, tubes, valves, and magnets managed by a microcontroller to examine kinetics. Dug a hole writing software to collect and process the data. Embraced the abyss and worked as a production engineer, managing and designing systems at scale. Weirdly feeling closer to chemical engineering now than when I was tinkering with microcontrollers in the lab! But that was fun too. First generation college graduate.
