I’m an old guy, probably way too old to mess around with this cyberspace stuff, but I still have an insatiable curiosity about the world, so I keep trying to learn new things. I’m a preacher, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and I aspire to be a writer, although I’ve got a ways to go in perfecting that craft. I like cowboy (not modern country) music, Southern cooking, NASCAR, and classical music. I know that stuff doesn’t all fit together, but enjoy both Merle Haggard and Beethoven. I’ve been married to the same wonderful woman for almost 53 years. I’ve got four dynamite children and two fantastic daughters-in-law. If I could have chosen the man to marry my daughter, I would have selected my son-in-law. I’ve got three magnificent grandchildren, one of whom is married to an outstanding young man. Then there’s an incredible great-granddaughter whom I don’t get to see nearly enough but I’m really thankful for You Tube. I’m a child of God, a grateful American, a proud Texan by birth, and an Iowan by adoption. I talk with a Texas drawl, but think with a Midwestern mind.
